FleetAMP overview
FleetAMP is a control plane for operating OpenTelemetry Collector fleets. It combines fleet inventory, ownership groups, configuration versions, validation, approvals, deployment evidence, drift detection, lifecycle proposals, and optional repository delivery.

Operating model
- Install and secure FleetAMP.
- Connect Collectors through OpAMP with stable identity.
- Create ownership groups and assign Group Owners.
- Assign Collectors explicitly or through controlled dynamic rules.
- Create or import an immutable group configuration version.
- Validate and preview the exact change and targets.
- Submit it to a different eligible reviewer.
- Deploy the approved snapshot.
- Monitor effective configuration, drift, rollback, and audit evidence.
Ownership and targeting
A Collector belongs to one ownership group. Labels can narrow a deployment inside that group, but they do not grant access or transfer ownership. This separation allows teams to operate independently without crossing administrative boundaries.
