Troubleshooting

Collector is missing or duplicated

Confirm network reachability to the OpAMP endpoint and use a persistent instance UID. A new UID creates a new collector identity.

Collector is in the wrong group

Compare the collector's controlled application, environment, and place values with the group. Optional labels do not determine membership.

Label selector resolves no targets

Confirm the collectors are already members of the selected group, then compare exact effective label values. Managed labels override reported values, and multiple selector entries use AND.

Configuration cannot be submitted

Open the validation result. Fix syntax or component-reference errors and confirm that a Group Owner changed only sections permitted by Config policies. A failed candidate cannot enter approval.

Approval target count changed

FleetAMP rechecks membership and labels at approval to prevent unintended expansion. Review the current target preview; update and resubmit the request when the intended set changed.

Deployment failed

Open the deployment detail for the failed target and inspect apply, acknowledgement, and health errors. Confirm the agent reverted to its previous effective version before retrying with a new validated version.

Drift remains after enforcement

Compare central and agent versions. Check agent connectivity, configuration permissions, and acknowledgement errors. FleetAMP enforces the approved snapshot for that collector, not simply the newest version in its group.
